Vocabulary

deference (noun): respect shown to someone older, wiser, or with more power than you
ameliorate (verb): to make (something) better
callously (adverb): without emotion, brutishly
ingratiate (verb): to curry favor, to make people like you
calumny (noun): a false and injurious statement intended to harm someones reputation
inculcate (verb): to instill by persistent instruction or repetition
dissemble (verb): to conceal or mask one's true motives, feelings, or beliefs
licentious (adjective): morally unrestrained
theology (noun): the study of the divine or of anything related to God or gods
blasphemy (noun or verb): profane speech
