Greetings! My apologies for the break in blogging; the silence belies the frenzy of activity in the classroom.
We are currently in the middle of our short story unit. Readings for the course include prose from Flannery O'Connor, Jack London, Charlotte Perkins Gilman, and Kate Chopin. Having just finished "The Yellow Wallpaper" don't be surprised to find your student *creeping* around, looking spooked!
The objective exam and a short essay will be administered next Monday, February 4th.
Another important update is the recently unfettered access teachers have gained to YouTube. While containing some inappropriate material, the plethora of resources available via YouTube is astounding. My students have already enjoyed seeing the short stories worked into short films by other English literature students.
After this unit, we head straight for the state assessment. Wish us luck!
All for now,
Ms Kuhn
